VSLO Student Webinar: Away Rotations 2023-24 - February 16

This 75-minute webinar will address common questions about the away rotation process. Attendees will hear directly from a panel of Host institutions and will gain an understanding of their respective review and decision-making processes.

Debra Denton
Debra Denton is a GME Program Coordinator at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) - Nashville Emergency Medicine Residency Program, Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford. She provides administrative support to the Program Director, 2 Associate Program Directors, Clerkship Director, 17 physicians and 24 residents. In addition, she also provides continued maintenance of a well-organized, efficient, supportive and scholarly environment for Medical Education, while ensuring that the program maintains accreditation by confirming that all licensing, credits, training is completed, and recruitment strategies are implemented so that a highly successful residency program is maintained.

Robert Hyde, MD
Dr. Hyde is a consultant in Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education for his Department and oversees the Emergency Medicine clerkship.

Miranda McLaughlin
Miranda is the Visiting Student Program Manager at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. After assuming the role in 2020, she has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the VSLO software and working closely with Vanderbilt students seeking away rotations as well as visiting students coming to study at Vanderbilt. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her two cats in Nashville, Tennessee.

Stephanie Roberts, MS
Stephanie is the Assistant Director for Clinical Curricular Management at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She oversees scheduling for 3rd and 4th year medical students, and assists students with away applications. She is the lead administrator for VSLO at Georgetown, both as a Home and Host administrator. She also serves as a Co-Chair for the Curriculum Reform Subcommittee of the Georgetown Racial Justice Committee for Change.
