The State of Women in Academic Medicine in 2024 and AAMC Gender Equity Open House Webinar - July 24

This webinar will summarize the highlights from the new 2024 AAMC State of Women in Academic Medicine Report and walk through the new focus areas for the AAMC's newly established Gender Equity Portfolio.

Data presented in this webinar provide a snapshot of women’s representation at key junctures in their roles as learners, faculty, and leaders as well as showcasing trends in women’s advancement over time. AAMC member medical schools and teaching hospitals can use these data to analyze the state of women in medicine and science at their institutions, identify opportunities to foster greater equity, and create actionable plans to improve the academic medicine learning environment and workplace. Understanding the state of women in academic medicine is key to acknowledging and evaluating the existing systems and structures that may be limiting or supporting them. New data points will be presented during this webinar by gender including scientific trainee pipeline, endowed roles, decanal leaders by gender and race/ethnicity, health system leaders by gender, updated salary equity and sexual harassment data from previous reports, and detailed information directly from WIMS leaders regarding the success and priorities of their offices.

Additionally, we are officially launching the AAMC's newly structured Gender Equity Portfolio with an open house! Hear more about the year-long strategic planning process the GE portfolio used to arrive at our new focus areas that will drive the work of the portfolio for the next two to three years.
