Curriculum Mapping Strategies, Evaluation Cycle, and Iterative Process' (Building Better Curriculum) - May 12, 2021

Dr. Deborah Conway is the Interim Vice Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education and Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, where she has responsibility for the four-year course-based curriculum for medical students. She has published and presented primarily in the areas of medical education and diabetes in pregnancy. Dr. Conway received her BS in Biology at Texas A&M University, her MD at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, and completed training in obstetrics/gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine at UT Health San Antonio.

As Director of Curriculum Evaluation, Dr. Change oversees ongoing assessment, evaluation, and reporting efforts to ensure that all components of the educational cycle for medical students are meeting stated goals and learning outcomes, as well as to identify opportunities for program improvement and enhanced student success.

Dr. Hernandez is an educational collaborator and leader who is passionate about seeking techniques and pathways to enhance and support curriculum design.  She noted that at UT Health, she has been fortunate to gain a medical education family of brilliant and dedicated professionals seeking to holistically make an impact in medical education, patient care, research, and their community.

Dr. Brown is a dedicated one45 database management coordinator and support, an enthusiastic educator and microbiologist, and a campus historian: most likely to have “been there” and “done that” as it relates to curriculum. Dr. Brown noted that at UT Health, she has the unique privilege to work with a team of dedicated professionals who share her passion for education, collaboration, and community through the pursuit of their common mission of excellence in education, care, and research.
