Using Curriculum Mapping Data to Evaluate by Cohort: Longitudinal, Vertical, Horizontal, and Cross-Section Analysis (Building Better Curriculum) - August 11, 2021

Siwar Bizri is the Accreditation and Business Analyst at the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida where she oversees several ongoing projects related to accreditation, compliance, quality improvement, and strategic planning. Siwar has supported the implementation and management of programmatic quality improvement processes, helps ensure the monitoring of KPIs and accreditation standards, and has been intimately involved in the development of over nine major applications streamlining the business processes at the college. Her other responsibilities include curriculum mapping support, application training and assistance, and event planning.

Deborah J. DeWaay, MD, FACP, is Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine. She completed her from Grinnell College in 1998, and her M.D. from the University of Iowa in 2005. She completed a residency, in 2008, and chief year in Internal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 2009. Her specialty is general internal medicine with a focus in hospital medicine.  She has served as the Associate Vice-Chair of Education for the Department of Medicine at MUSC. Dr. DeWaay has won numerous teaching awards including MUSC Department of Medicine Excellence in Teaching Award and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. She is a member of both the Gold Humanism in Medicine and AOA honor societies. Since 2016, she has served as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education at USF. In this role, Dr. DeWaay has been focusing on streamlining the assessment and evaluation system, creating a state-of-the-art curriculum map, and implementing the AAMC’s Entrustable Professional Activities.

Shane Puckett completed his Bachelor of Arts (2001) and Master of Arts degrees (2003) from Arkansas State University in Speech Communication. He later completed his Ed.D. with an emphasis in Education Leadership – Higher Education Administration from Louisiana Tech University in 2016. Since 2017, Dr. Puckett has been serving as the Director of Curriculum Management for the Morsani College of Medicine, University of South Florida in Tampa. In this role, he assists the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education by coordinating curricular efforts for two different MD programs, Core and SELECT.

Erik is a graduate of the Muma College of Business with 5+ years of experience in Agile Product Management in USF Information Technology's Digital Innovations department. He has overseen the development of a number of USF initiatives at the Morsani College of Medicine, the College of Public Health, and more. These applications have digitally transformed and streamlined outdated, error prone processes to meet the high demands of Medical Learning.
