Defining the role of a strategy office or team is imperative to preparing for the future of academic medicine. During this webinar, participants will gain practical knowledge to establish, refine, or refresh a strategy office or team. This webinar will draw on the experiences of University of South Florida Health and Johns Hopkins Medicine, each with unique strategy offices. Presenters will share a 10-step process covering topics, such as using generative AI to support office planning, developing a purpose statement, identifying strategy services, selecting a change management model, developing an operational budget, identifying team roles, and prioritizing strategic initiatives. Participants will walk away with tools and templates to successfully plan for a strategy office or refresh/refine existing strategic operations.

With distinguished experience spanning over 24 years, she is recognized as a dynamic leader adept at navigating the complexities of modern organizational strategy. As a Co-Chair for the AAMC Group on Institutional Planning’s Strategic Planning and Management Subcommittee, Dr. Reyes Hull is dedicated to advancing the field of academic medicine.

Jessica Liddle, MHA is the Director of Enterprise Performance and Strategic Planning. She has been with Johns Hopkins Medicine since 2014 where she currently leads the annual identification of strategically significant system level initiatives. In her role she utilizes an integrated strategic planning process to identify forward looking goals, the strategies necessary to accomplish success, and the internal performance management systems required to guide implementation and evaluate progress.
Caitlin Wolf, MBA
Assistant Vice President for Administration & Organizational Strategy

Caitlin Wolf is a seasoned professional with over a decade of leadership experience in higher education. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Vice President for Administration & Organizational Strategy at the University of South Florida (USF) Health, where she spearheads strategic initiatives, consulting engagements and executive projects, and provides administrative and operational oversight for the USF Morsani College of Medicine campus in downtown Tampa. With a versatile background that includes roles as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Student Services, Caitlin possesses a deep understanding of higher education and excels in developing impactful solutions that drive positive change across educational, research and clinical mission areas.
Ritu Patel, MHA, PMP (Moderator)

Ritu Patel is a Project Director at Houston Methodist and has been an active member of AAMC since 2014. Since joining, she has served on the GIP, Strategic Planning and Management subcommittee for 10 years and assisted with the recent GIP website redesign. She has worked in healthcare for 15 years and academic medicine for 9 years. Ritu has an extensive background in strategic planning and project management. In her current role, she supports the strategic planning team with majority focus on process improvement projects. She also serves as the Vice Chair for the MOMs of Methodist Employee Resource Group (ERG).
The AAMC is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Attendance at this webinar will provide 1 hour of Continuing Professional Education credits in the areas of Business Management and Organization. The program level for this meeting is basic.
