Hilit F. Mechaber, M.D.

Dr. Hilit Mechaber is Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSM).  She graduated from the UM BS/MD Honors Program in Medicine and completed her residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine at the George Washington University. Her professional niche is in the area of medical student career development, coaching, and support. In her current decanal role, she creates and oversees programs and resources available for all areas of medical student support, advancement, and career guidance. She is a national leader in student affairs with a passion and commitment to medical student well-being. Dr. Mechaber has broad national involvement as she currently serves as the Immediate Past-Chair of the National Group on Student Affairs (GSA). Dr. Mechaber has also been a student affairs contributor to the ERAS and Careers in Medicine National Advisory Boards. Dr. Mechaber values her roles as the proud mother of two daughters and wife of a fellow physician educator/executive.

Kathleen M. Finn MD, M.Phil
Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director in Internal Medicine

For the last two years Dr. Finn has served as the Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.  Prior to that she spent 15 years as the Senior APD for Resident and Faculty Development at Massachusetts General Hospital.  She currently serves as the chair of the APDIM Survey and Scholarship Committee.  She has published on Supervision, Teamwork, Peer Observation and Hiring Practices of PDs/APD.  She was a co-author on “Rethinking the Internal Medicine Residency Application Process to Prioritize the Public Good: A Consensus Statement of the Alliance for Academic Internal medicine” and is a subcommittee chair for the AAIM Residency Application Working Group Committee.
